Strawberry Social Quilt

I am in love with this quilt Jenele made, Strawberry Social. 
The first bolt  (the green one) in the photo is what she picked for her backing.

I think the white with pink dot is the perfect choice for the background. You can never go wrong with dots.

Heather bought a new long arm pattern to go with this quilt, a strawberry and leaf pattern. I can't wait to see it done.

Berenstain Bear Bear Country Quilt

When we got the Berenstain Bears fabric in, In Bear Country, I was stuck on what to do with it. I looked for a pattern that included large pieces so the images wouldn't have to be chopped up.

I found Abby Lane's Pepperland fit the bill. It used fat quarters and solid white. It came together quickly. You just need a surface to lay out the 4 blocks prior to sewing (yes, this quilt is just 4 large blocks).

Amy quilted an all over alphabet. Perfect! Thanks Amy. I washed this one before hanging it in the shop. A quilt always changes after getting washed the first time and I wanted to see the alphabet pattern all crinkled up.

As usual, I cut a few extra kits as I was cutting mine and I put one in our etsy shop if you want to make one too.

I am working on a fun and easy tutorial for you. I want to make the template a pdf for you to print out. I have never done that before so fingers crossed.

Bella Baby Quilt

Heather made this adorable baby quilt. She pulled yellows and greys from Lotta Jansdotter's line, Bella, and a few coordinating prints. The binding is a perfect candy stick stripe in grey and white.

She used Cluck Cluck Sew's pattern, Boardwalk

The backing is a soft grey minky, perfect for babies to snuggle. I think it is just dreamy.

Heirloom Quilt

 I have been wanting to make something from Joel Dewberry's Heirloom line for some time now. I finally got around to it! I used the Big and Bold pattern and this quilt came together quickly with fat quarters and a bit of solid purple.

It is hanging in the store for a bit so take a look when you pop in and tell me what you think.

Flirt Valentine Quilt

One of our newest fabric lines we got in was Flirt by Sandy Gervais for Moda. Individual pieces from this line are selling fast. They are nice coordinates with many other fabrics and fabric lines and not just for Valentine's Day.

The line includes a fun panel and Heather made up a shop sample of the pattern that uses this panel.

The center panel is all ready, no applique necessary. Same with the corner pieces. You fussy cut the flowers from the second panel and button hole or blanket stitch around the edges.

Heather quilted the top on the diagonal. You could mark your quilt top with a Frixon pen (the lines disappear with the heat from your iron or wash out) and a long ruler and quilt this easily on your home machine.

We love Valentine's day around here. We still have our Christmas windows up but that because we are gearing up for our next holiday theme window. I can't wait to pack up winter and bring on love.

Star Wheel Quilt

We like to feature a quilt in our themed windows and over in our Cozy Cabin window is the Star Wheel Quilt, perfect for snuggling under during those frosty nights.
We draped it over an old church pew and it shares it seat with a large pair of antlers.

Big thanks to our friend Trina, she knocked out our shop sample for us.  We have a few kits left. I put one in our etsy shop if you would like one too.

The circles and stars are raw edge and fusible applique. The pattern is from the book Scrap Quilts Go Country. Amy long arm quilted an all over stipple design.  Amy does a lot of local long arm quilting but we also receive quilts in the mail from all over. You can get more info here.

Urbanista Quilt

We have another fantastic group effort on the Quilt Barn blog today. First, Judy is the sewer/maker of this stunning yellow and black quilt. The fabrics are Urbanista by Studio E.

This line has been popular and several bolts just flew out the door. Its a good thing Judy kitted this one up before we put the bolts on the shelf. We couldn't re-kit this one now.

Judy used a vibrant yellow minky for the backing.

Laura gave us awesome quilt photos again. And that wash stand is the perfect prop.

Amy long arm quilted champagne bubbles, a perfect compliment for this quilt.

Crazy Patch Halloween Quilt

Jenele makes the most fun quilts. She gathered up the Halloween bolts of fabric and put together this fun quilt. She used the book Simple Choices by Abby Lane Quilts.

She quilted the quilt on her home machine. She does such a great job. I could take a few lessons from her.

We have a few kits left so I put one on etsy.
I am off to finish making Halloween costumes. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute.

Sherbet Woods Quilt, Another Radioway

The Salt Air Radioway Quilt was a hit but we sold out of the fabric. I still thought we should have a sample up with Radioway by Jay Bird Quilts. But what fabric to use?

How about a combination of Aneela Hoey's Sherbet Pips, Little Aplpes, and Walk in the Woods?

Add in new toadstool quilting and perfecto.

So, what do you think? Does grey, red, pink and teal work?

Birch On the Go Quilt

Heather's Birch To Work quilt was such a huge hit at HMQS in Provo, Utah (Home Machine Quilting Show). We didn't make kits of this one, it was more to showcase our new batting and be a store sample for the Birch fabrics.
Due to popular demand we made up some kits so you can make your own. Birch fabrics are so soft and 100% organic.

Lori's Quilt

Lori's latest quilt is all quilted and the binding sewn on. Heather Bailey's Freshcut was her inspiration fabric line and she pulled a few others to round out the quilt. I really like the stripey binding.

Cabana Bloom Quilt

Judy made this delish Cabana Blooms quilt!

The tourquoise quilting and the pattern Amy chose is so sweet. The backing is a tourquoise minky.

Chic Baby Quilt

We have the cutest bolts here at The Quilt Barn and I have been trying to think of something quick and easy to  make up with these fabrics. It is Bunny Hill's Ooh Lala. Have you seen it?
The panel is the sweetest. I paired a panel with 3 Sister's Papillon for the border.

The binding is a grey dot (like in the panel sashing). Amy quilted this one for me and the pattern is a new one and is called Candlewick. I wanted something sweet and delicate and I think this works.

Chic Baby is currently at the HMQS in Utah (because I used an Autumn batting) but it will be in store if you would like to come in and take a peek. This is the easiest quilt ever and a great price, 24.99. I will put them in webstore and on etsy.

Papillon Broken Stars Quilt

I am a big fan of 3 Sisters and their Papillon fabric line doesn't disappoint.
Amy Macklay let us hang her Broken Stars quilt in The Quilt Barn as a display.

She used the pattern Simple Stars Beautiful Quilts by Debbie Maddy for Calico Carriage Quilt Designs

Amy did a great quilting job and the pattern really compliments the quilt. This finished size is 98"X108", a queen.

Remember This Quilt?

 Remember this quilt? The kits sold like crazy. So we bundled up some other flannel colors and have 4 new kits in store, in the webstore and on etsy.

Chevron Sampler Quilt

 Heather, and the rest of us here, fell hard for the Cotton Chevron Fat Quarter Bundle by Riley Blake. However, what to do with it? No surprise Heather came up with a fantastic new pattern for it. Isn't it awesome!?

The zig zag binding really compliments this quilt. We last saw this signature quilting on this quilt. 

She used a black and white chevron by Robert Kaufman for the binding.
