Papillon Broken Stars Quilt

I am a big fan of 3 Sisters and their Papillon fabric line doesn't disappoint.
Amy Macklay let us hang her Broken Stars quilt in The Quilt Barn as a display.

She used the pattern Simple Stars Beautiful Quilts by Debbie Maddy for Calico Carriage Quilt Designs

Amy did a great quilting job and the pattern really compliments the quilt. This finished size is 98"X108", a queen.

You can find a kit at our etsy store

Remember This Quilt?

Remember this quilt? The kits sold like crazy. So we bundled up some other flannel colors and have 4 new kits in store, in the webstore and on etsy.

The orange and grey is my favorite. You can find it in our etsy store.

Green and tan. Etsy listing

A mustard and slate blue here .

Plum and tan/brown here

We know a lot of you are looking for masculine quilts and, I think,  this fits the bill.

Chevron Sampler Quilt

Heather, and the rest of us here, fell hard for the Cotton Chevron Fat Quarter Bundle by Riley Blake. However, what to do with it? No surprise Heather came up with a fantastic new pattern for it. Isn't it awesome!?

The zig zag binding really compliments this quilt. We last saw this signature quilting on this quilt.

She used a black and white chevron by Robert Kaufman for the binding.
We have kitted a few of these up if you would like to make one too. You can find it on our etsy store or in person at The Quilt Barn.

Love it Heather! Another great quilt and pattern. This one is called Chevron Sampler.

If you would like to add this quilt to your pinboard on Pinterest you can find it on our Quilt Barn Board here.

Quilter Profile-Tara

I put a call out for quilter submissions and haven't received any yet. You can still submit something. I would love to write a bog post about you and your quilts.
So, I am going to show you some of my favorite quilts. I picked up the photos from my blog, tinyglutton.
The first quilt is a modified dresden quilt. I took my inspiration from the book, Material Obsessions. I needle turned the circles on to solid green squares.
I call the long arm quilting "Denyse Schmidt figure eights".
I use this one everyday on my bed.

This is a Denyse Schmidt pattern, Single Girl. I used an out of print fabric also by her, Katie Jump Rope.
The piecing isn't too difficult but the prep is killer. It has a lot of templates to cut out and keep organized.
As you can see it doesn't have binding yet.
I made another Single Girl quilt out of vintage sheets and it needs binding too. Really Tara, get those bound.

Gee, another Denyse Schmidt Quilt. This one is Hills and Hollars and uses her Hope Valley line. This one is huge, maybe my biggest one. It is folded away in my closet. I wonder why. I should rotate a few quilts.
So, I am noticing a trend with my favorite quilts. Interesting.
I am making another Material Obsession quilt using some of her re-released Flea Market Fancy. I think this one may take a while. I have quite a few projects going. I can't seem to start and finish a project before starting a new one.

We are going to be announcing a contest soon and you could win a 100$ gift certificate to our etsy store our our website. Details to be announced soon.

Birch On the Go Quilt

Birch Organic Fabrics are our new favorite fabrics. We got in a few of their fabrics and it is so soft and washed up really nice.
Heather made this quilt and custom quilted it on the long arm. It is divine Heather!

Here is a close up of her line quilting.

Heather took inspiration for her quilt from a quilt backing in the book, Sunday Morning Quilts.
You can find these fabrics here.

The backing is a buttery yellow, Birdie Spokes. Heavenly.

Easter Hoppiness Quilt

Jenele saw Zan Taylor's Hoppiness pattern and had to make it. Now! We talk about that here, the need to make something now or you are going to explode. And it true, I've almost seen Jenele explode.
Make sure to take a look at this quilt when you come into the store. It is so cute in person. The bunny is white minky.

The backing is a panel. So perfect Jenele.
You can visit Zan taylor's new blog here. She is having a giveaway too so pop over and tell her The Quilt Barn sent you.
