Vintage Little Girl Pillow

Like many, many of you I am a big fan of pinterest. I saw these pillows and had to make one. They are darling. We have a t-shirt printer here at the Quilt Barn so I thought we could make something like it. Its been fun trying out this machine. It has been very busy this summer printing our sports, reunion, and summer events t-shirts but I knew it could print on fabric too.

I found a free image on The Graphics Fairy and Laura tweaked it in photoshop to get the image we used.

I used a reproduction pink feedsack fabric on the back. This pillow makes me ridiculously happy. It would be cute in a bright turquoise too.  Our girl pillow is sitting next to another girl pillow. This one is hand painted on (I think) silk. The lady who painted it, Hazel, lived to be 102. I'm not too sure how old it is but I am going to guess 1920's. If anyone has any info on what the age of this might be let me know.

The square pillow behind it is a scrap of muslin basted crazy quilt using feedsacks. The pieces are so tiny, maybe fifty cent piece size, all hand stitched.

The Dresden Plate quilt on the bed is from the book Material Obsessions. The folded quilt used as a pillow is Denyse Schmidt Single Girl pattern
